The Perfect Movie Snack

DSC04680.JPG
Have you ever been to the theater and couldn't decide if you wanted popcorn or candy? Well wonder no more. This tasty snack combines the best in movie snacks. It is very unhealthy, and will probably rot your teeth, but who wants to eat healthy food during a movie? It is very simple and is cheap.

I call this snack the rainbow crunch. For reasons that will become obvious. Any kind of candy can be used, but if you are unsure as to what kind to get. I recommend you just try it with these.

The rainbow crunch snack consists of popcorn, gummy bears and m&ms. Never again will a candy dilemma have to be made. Enjoy!

The first step to creating the perfect movie snack is to decide what kind of candy you want with your popcorn. For this i recommend a gummy candy of sorts and a hard candy to add a little flair. Personally, I'd recommend gummy bears and m&m's, but be creative with it.

The first step is to pop the popcorn. If your microwave doesn't have a preset popcorn button, approximately 2 -2 1/2 mins works just as well. Be sure to remove the plastic from the popcorn before putting it in the microwave..

While the popcorn is in the microwave, get a fairly large bowl ready and open the packages of candy you want to use.

Gummy Candy

Next you add the gummy based candy. For this i used gummy bears, but worms or keys would would just as well. Pour about half the popcorn into the bowl and toss a handful or two of the gummies on top. Add the rest of the popcorn and another fair amount of gummies and mix in. Remember more can always be added later. DO NOT PUT BACK IN MICROWAVE. Seriously. The gummies will melt and stick all the popcorn together. It's really not that good, and it's not fun to clean up afterwards.

Hard Candy

This is the best part. I recommend m&m's just because they're chocolate and crunchy at the same time. Because gummy candies are already sweet and sticky, i suggest only putting a handful or so into the mix. These candies add colour, and an excellent blend of flavours. The chocolate and candies counteract the saltiness of the popcorn.

Enjoy!

The last step is to pop in a movie and enjoy some gooey goodness.
