The Scooping Sponge
Have you ever finished using up the sauce in a jar and realized there is still some sauce but your basic kitchen utensils can't get it out. Well so have I but unlike your lazy self ( just kidding ) I decided to take actions and create a product that can be not only capable to get the sauce out of the pan but cleaning the jar as well.
Supplies
1 piece of wood ( 10 inches long x 4 inches wide x 1 inch thick )
Computer with fusion 360 downloaded
1 sponge
Belt Sander
Band Saw
Sand paper
"Prep" Step
Login onto your computer and boot up the good old fusion 360. Next you would want to create a sketch at the top left of the app and then you want to chose the vertical plane that goes up. ( Picture will be attached ) Then you want to make a regular rectangle that is 2 inches wide and 8 inches long. Then you would want to extrude in by .75 inches by hitting the extrude button or just hitting "E" on your keyboard. Then you want to make a rectangle at the top your already created and make it 4 inches wide and 1.5 inches wide. Then you want to extrude that by .5 inches. Then you want to hit the line button and make a rectangle 1.1 inch tall and 3.9 inches wide around a little more then half way up your created rectangle. Then you want to extrude it by .5 inches to match with your other extruded piece. Then you'll want to type "F" into your computer to fillet or round the edges of your product. Fillet it by .5 inches inward on all of the edges until it looks like the picture above. Then you want to create another rectangle that is 4.5 inches wide and 5 inches long that looks like the picture above. Then you want to print the product by hitting the design button and then hit the drawing, then the from design button. Then you'll see like a little blue print format with your product really small, but first change it from front to top. To enhance the size you'll want to click it so it stays in place, then on the side with the ratio number you want to hit " 1:1.5 " into the box then your product will get bigger. Then hit the PDF button at the top and hit export pdf. Then you'll get it like the picture at the top, then hit print and select your printer then you'll have your blueprint to make it into the shop.
Creation
Using the peace of paper that you have printed, find a board the the whole piece of paper sits on comfortably. This board should be a minim of .75 inch thick and maxim of 1.15. Tape the paper onto the board, and using the band saw follow the lines to cut it out, while ignoring the divots where the sponge will go, that is our next step. So now you basically should have a rectangle with the outline of the divots, and the divots them selves not cut out yet. Now on each side of all four divots so the edges where the outline is, create lines on each edge/ side and cut in to where the outline is. Going from there, you should go at an angle in order to cut out a large quantity of this out. There will be left over but that is ok. You should be able to slide the saw blade in, and cut it straightly with the piece falling out. Do this for both the smaller and bigger divots. Now using the belt sander or if you only have sand paper, sand the skinny part into a cylinder such shape, and make it to your desire. The spoon part itself can also be made to your desire but we recommend making one side flat and the other curved to be able to use it for other types of containers as well. Now grab a sponge (any kind is ok) and cut it into 2 circles (You might need two sponges) that are big enough to go ever the small not but not the big one. Now in the middle of the sponge without cutting the edges cut a line in the middle and slide it over from the spoon part and over the notch and hot glue in place. Once this is secure you can cut the top piece smaller to match the other. The final step, using the left over of one of the sponges, hot glue it to the top sponge notch(The wooden part) so you are able to clean the bottom as well as the sides.
