"There's Always Sunshine" Light
"There's Always Sunshine" is a LED light made with a UV Light Sensor. It’s for people who’s experiencing seasonal depression to remind themselves that there can always be sunshine and stay positive. The light will work as when the sun goes down / when it’s cloudy or rainy, it lights up. You can Toggle a button for the light to fade, otherwise the light stays on.
Supplies
- Arduino Uno
- Adafruit LTR390 UV Light Sensor
- Warm White LED Light Strip
- Adafruit Soft Flexible Wire NeoPixel Strand - 7 NeoPixels
- Transistor
- Wires
- Transparent 3D Print PLA
- Metal Breadboard
- Toggle Switch
Form
Build the form of the light. Print 2 of the circle files, with one of them mirrored. Print one of each of the triangle files.
Build Your Circuit
Connect your arduino uno board. LED symbolizes the white LED light strip.
Test Your Code
Upload the code to your board and test it.

Solder the Connection Wires to Your Metal Breadboard
Place Your Light in Your Form and Glue the Form
Place your build circuit in your 3D printed form. Note that on the circle print, there are 3 holes. From the biggest to the smallest, these holes are for: power cable + toggle switch wire, UV sensor wire, Neopixel wire. Put the wire through the right hole and glue the circles together.
For the triangles, each of the triangle is paired with a flip triangle so the holes align with each other. The wire of the neopixel goes through the holes and each of the neopixel goes in one pair of triangle. Glue the triangles together.
When these are done, place the triangles along the curve of the circle and glue them together.
Connect to Power
Connect to a 5v power block to turn light on.
