I have always loved a good stacking game and I like a good challenge. However what is even more fun is to design a more challenging stacking game so I made Tipping Frenzy, the ultimate stacking game. Tipping Frenzy is a stacking game with a twist or should I say with a tipping point. Yep this game tips like it says in the name and players try to stack while trying to keep the platform from tipping and ending the game. Tipping Frenzy is an all 3d printed game and was designed in Tinkercad. This allows anyone who has a 3d printer to change or modify to their liking. With its adjustable spring position, you can change its difficulty just by moving the position of the spring.

Goal-

In Tipping Frenzy the goal is simple, every player will try to beat the other by getting the most points which is determined by the block . When the stack falls the game ends. The goal is simple however hard to accomplish.

These are all the files below for what needs to be printed. All pieces were printed at an infill of 15% with a brim for the smaller pieces. The Spring connectors are the only thing that needs supports which can be easily cut off. In addition the pdf files are below for printing the cards for the game.

  3. Now with this piece slide it into the base.
  4. Finally set the platform on top of the rod and finish sliding the springs in place.
  5. You are finished! Now you can adjust the springs to have an easier or harder gaming experience.

Assembling the Cards

  1. When the cards are printed, cut out the cards either with a paper slicer or scissors.

Gameplay with cards-

When playing Tipping Frenzy with cards, the cards must be shuffled before the game. When shuffled, all cards must be put in a deck where all players can reach. Afterwards all must players take two cards from the deck (players are allowed to look at their card). To start the game whoever is the oldest goes first, the next play goes to the right.

When playing, the player may choose one card from their hand to use or to place one card at the bottom of the deck. When playing a card, the player must place the card face up in front of them and try to stack the block that matches to the card. If the player succeeds in stacking their block, the player will receive the points corresponding to the number on the card. However if the player did not succeed, the player will lose two times the amount that is shown on the card and the game ends. After the player’s turn they must pick a new card from the deck to refill their hand.

At the end of the game all players must count up their points and whoever has the highest score wins!

Running out of blocks

When running out of blocks, players may choose to take out the block if it is under a layer and can earn points for that block. However if the block is not under a layer, the player cannot move it to earn points and can either choose a different card from their hand or place it on the bottom of the deck.

Gameplay without cards

To start the game whoever is the oldest goes first, the next play goes to the right. During the player’s turn they must chooses a block to stack and if they succeed, they will receive points according to the block type. If the block is made up of two cubes then they will receive 2 points and so on… If the player fails to stack the block, the game ends and they lose two times the height of the stack.

At the end of the game whoever has the highest score wins!
