Tom's - EZ Plastic Coffee Can Trash Can

This is a easy and simple project that will help keep your vehicle, office, bedroom, etc. nice and clean. If you have allergies or a cold this is a great way to easily deal with all those pesky tissues. All you do is push the trash past the cuts in the lid and let go. This trash can will hold its solid trash even when turned upside down. When it gets full either empty it out and reuse or throw it away. It holds a lot of tissues and doesn’t spill, so it is great in allergy season.

Large plastic coffee can.
Something to cut with.
Optional - small trash can liners or plastic grocery bags.

Obtain a large empty plastic coffee can.

Remove the lid.

Cut an X shape into the lid, almost all the way to the edge. Do Not cut yourself.

Replace lid and insert trash through X cut into lid as necessary.

When the can becomes full, either empty and clean or just make a new one.

I keep one of these in the back floorboard of my Blazer, it constantly is on its side and rolls around but doesn’t spill. I can easily reach it from my seat (when not driving of course) to put trash into. I have used this can now for several months and it is still not full. It also comes in very handy when you have small children and wet wipes. I suppose you could line it with a trash can liner or plastic grocery bag tucked under the rim of the lid if you want.
