Transparent Alligator Clips

Sometimes we just need a beautiful tools for aesthetic reason. Most of alligator clips have very bold color wire (usually red and black) with silver clips. I made this copper color alligator clips because the bold color wires distracted to show my work. This transparent clip is very easy to make and you can use various way for your projects.

Materials and Tools

Long nose (For cutting wire. you can use any cutting tools e.g. nipper)

Wire stripper

  • Materials

Solid Copper Alligator Clips

Speaker wire

Masking tape

Urethane modified acrylic coating spray

Split the Speaker Wire

Most of speaker wire is made of two different color wire. Split the wire and divide colors. I bought two different colors of speaker wire, blue and red. Cut those wire around 11 inch.

Cut the Wire and Strip End Of

Cut the wire around 11 inch (any length you need)

Strip the wire both ends around 1.5 inch. (You need to peel off more than 1 inch)

Tie Up

Put wire into the small hole on the copper clip. Turn around clips and put the wire back to the hole. If the wire is too loosen, you can trim some of it. (It should be a tight)

Tighten Up Clips

You can find little teeth end of the each clip. Tighten up those teeth until the clip fixed with wire.

Taping

Taping the clips front and inside with masking tape.

Coating

Spray transparent acrylic paint for little insulation and protection

Finish ;)

Now you have beautiful transparent alligator clips ;)
