Ultra Small Portable Phone Charger
Here is the ultra small mobile charger from a 9v Battery. This comes in handy when you are traveling. This charges your phone with the help of a data cable. Just connect the data cable from the circuit to your phone and phone starts charging.
This project constitutes some basic principle of Electronics. This can be your very first project.
Components
1. LM 7805 IC
2. 2 x 0.1uF Capaciors
3. USB Female connector
4. LED
5. 9v Battery
6. 9v Battery Snapper
Knowing Your Components
Before going to the circuit as a beginner, it is necessary to know your components. As shown in the image, it is LM 7805 Voltage Regulator IC. This Regulates the voltage. If we give input from 5v to 12v DC it will regulate it into 5v.
Here we will provide the input from pin 1 and 2 and we will take the output from pin 2 and 3.
Pin 1 - Input
Pin 2 - GND
Pin 3 - Output
Capacitors
Shown in the image are the capacitors. They does the working of storing. Here we will use the capacitor of capacitance 0.1uF.
The bigger leg is the positive terminal of capacitor and smaller one is the negative terminal of the capacitor.
Lets Get Started
Let's get started with the making of circuit.
Now mount LM 7805 IC on the breadboard and connect a 0.1uF capacitor across pin 2 and 3 of the IC
Another
Now connect another 0.1uF Capacitor across pin 1 and 2 of the IC.
LED
Connect LED across pin 2 and 3 of the IC.
USB Female Connector
Now mount USB female connector and connect the wires from pin 2 and 3 as shown in the image.
Pin 1 and 4 are responsible for voltage transfer in the USB Network.
Battery
Connect the battery.
Connect the wires of the battery snapper Black wire at pin no. 2 and Red Wire and pin no. 1.
Charger Ready
Now, your charger is ready to charge any mobile phone. Just connect the Data Cable and it will start charging.
On Circuit Board
Now solder the components on the circuit board.
Try to make it more and more compact. If you are not good at soldering don't try too much compactness.
