Under Desk Headphone Hook
This inscrutable gives a general overview of the design, printing and instillation process for a simple desk mounted headphone stand.
I wanted to mount my headphones under my desk so they were out of the way when not in use. I was shocked when I couldn't find an STL online, so I modeled my own. My files are included in the next step.
Design + CAD
I have included my SOLIDWORKS and stl files for this part. I have also included a mostly dimensioned drawing so you can recreate this part if you want to make changes and don't have SOLIDWORKS.
Design Note:
Make sure you think about screw holes when designing a part. The first iteration did not have the screwdriver hole (highlighted in the 2nd image). I had one screw in my desk and realized that I couldn't install it.
3D Print
I printed this part on a Lulzbot Mini in ABS and didn't have any problems.
"Finish"
Remove brim and file / sand any rough edges.
Install
The part is designed to be installed with 2 #6 x 5/8" screws
Just screw it into the bottom of your desk!
