Unique Envelopes

Making your own envelopes is adding personalization to your card, note, or even bills!

Before: It's fun, you can use new or old calendars, magazines, gardening catalogs,.....be creative!

After its an envelope

Items You Will Need

You will need...

  • Calendars, magazines, gardening catalogs, scrapbooking paper, or newspaper.
  • Glue stick
  • Lead pencil
  • Scissors
  • Envelope pattern (Provided)

Make Your Own Pattern

If you have a specific envelope that you want to duplicate, carefully take it apart without damaging it, Trace it out on a piece of cardstock or cardboard, to make a pattern.

Trace Around

Place your pattern on the inside or back of the paper you have selected to use, trace around the pattern lightly. Cut it out on the line, if there are any pencil marks left on it when cutting out, erase them.

Folding

With the seal flap of the envelope pointed upward, fold the two side flaps inward, and the bottom up as shown in the pictures.

Gluing

Spread glue on the two side tabs, then fold the bottom up, press your finger on the places where the glue is, make sure they are making good contact with the glue.

Finishing

Bend down the seal flap evenly, turn over to the front and place on a 1" x 2 5/8" sticker label (the lazy way) or create your own address label for a more original and fun touch!
