Use a Pool Noodle As a Mini Shower
A cheap pool noodle does a really effective job keeping kids (and dogs!) cool and clean. It's also just a lot of fun to play with.
Even better, it's super fast and easy! With just a little bit of modification, the pool noodle becomes a portable instant shower when connected to a hose.
Plug Up One End
Cut a small piece off of the pool noodle. Since the piece is donut-shaped, snip it so it becomes a longer piece.
Plug it into one end of the noodle as tightly as possible to prevent any water leakage.
Extra Securing
To make it even more secure, tightly duct tape the plugged end of the noodle. Then, tighten a zip tie around the duct tape. While doing this is technically optional, it is highly recommended.
To turn the noodle into a donut shape, bring the two ends together and duct tape or zip tie them in place. Make sure that the plugged up end is in the inside of the donut, as shown. This will make inserting the hose much easier.
Poke Holes
Using a skewer or toothpick, poke holes all over the inside of the noodle. The more holes, the better.
Attach Hose
Screw the hose into the open end of the noodle.
Slowly turn on the hose. Adjust the water pressure as necessary to prevent the hose from coming out.
Enjoy!
Put it above your head for a more classic-type shower, or just rinse your hands.
For a dog, walk him through and rinse off any dirt.
It's super refreshing and a lot of fun to play with!
