For this project, you will need:

A variety of colored quilling paper

Glue

A quilling tool

Scissors

A size workboard (optional)

Making the Outline of the Deer

Start by gluing 2 pieces of light pink paper together at one end. Then, as shown in the second picture, make a curve. This will be the bottom of the deer. Take a look at the pictures for how to continue to make the outline. (I would do a terrible job trying to write it out. When you are done, glue the end, and trimt he excess, if needed.

Making the Head

Cut a piece of light pink quilling paper large enough, so when a loop is formed, it's proportionate to the size of the body. Glue at the end, and then fold inside, as shown in the 2nd picture.

Making the Eye

Take a piece of light yellow paper. Fold it several times, and glue it. The purpose of folding it is to maintain structure, and so it won't fall. For the center of the eye, roll a tight coil of navy blue, or black.

Making the Ears

Stack 2 pieces of light pink and 2 pieces of light yellow, and glue at one end (picture 1). Pull them at different lengths to create the effect show in picture 2. Glue at the end, and trim the excess. Fold in the middle to make the ear and make sure the ears are rounded. Repeat the process for the 2nd ear.

Making the Antlers

Take 3 pieces of the light pink paper, and glue them together at one end. Use the same technique for the antlers as we did for the ears. Pull at different lengths, glue the end, and trim the excess.

The Finished Product

Arrange the components on a piece of paper, (or in my case,a canvas), and glue them down! Take a look at the difference that the antlers make!
