Vertical Corner Garden Out of Pallets

This project was inspired by a video that Steve Ramsey posted on his youtube channel, Woodworking for Mere Mortals.

It is a simple project, which uses simple tools. All you'll need is a jigsaw, a drill and a pallet.

Select Your Wood

Choose two larger pieces from the base of the pallet to be used as the frame of our vertical garden and gather enough boards to fill the back of it.

Doesnt matter if the wood is dry or wet, you can use both of them.

Trace Lines to Cut

Find the angle that you want for your garden and place the boards under the wood that you're going to use as frame.

With a pen or pencil trace the outline of the frame.

Cut the Back to Shape

Cut all the pieces of the back panel with a jigsaw following the lines that you traced before.

Remember to keep the boards on its order, so it's easier to put everything togheter in the end.

Screwing the Back Panel

Place the first and last pieces of the back panel to get the frame on the exact size that you traced your lines before.

Start screwing from top to bottom.

Use 4 screws for each piece, one on each corner.

There's no real need for wood glue, but you can use it if you want.

Mounting the Shelfs

Cut a few pieces from another large wood of the pallet base. They don't need to be exact measured. Roughly 2cm each.

Fill With Dirt and Plants

Cut a few boards to fit in as shelfs, again, nothing exaclty measured.

That's it!

Now that your vertical planter is done, fill the shelfs with dirt and start planting your flowers!
