Very Small Detonator

est302220[1].jpg
This is an instructable on how to make a very small detonator. It's very similar to the estes model rocket detonators like shown. Just in this detonator it uses 9 volt instead of the 6 volts in the estes one.  It's also much smaller.

Parts

sfe-12mm-push-button-switch[1].jpg
1k_resistor[1].jpg
RedLed[1].jpg
For the parts, you will need:

1- small push button

1- small on-off switch

1- 9 volt battery

1- 9 volt battery clip

1- 1k ohm resistor

1- LED any color

1- 30ft speaker cable (the one that has 2 separate wires)

2- alligator clips with no wires on it

?- wires

Tools:

-wire stripper

-soldering iron

-solder

-needle nose pliers

-helping hands station (optional)

Schematic/Assembly

Put the detonator together as small as you can based on the schematic. If you want then you could put it in a small project box, or you could use those cool looking armed LED, or you could use those switches that have the protectors. But if you use the switch, then you will have to remove the original switch and replace it with a push-button switch. For the LEDs I would recomend using a red led like the picture on the parts slide because it gives a more menacing look and it looks cooler.

For using it, I recomend that if you cant, or dont know how to make an igniter, then use model rocket igniters. Be sure to stand back as far as the cable will let you.

Case Mod

One cool modification that you could do is use a 9 volt battery as a project box and the terminals already serve as a 9 volt battery clip.
