today we will be making a viberation experiment kit. great for kids to explore the mystical aspects of viberations!

this is a great experiment for kids to do as they will be learning newtons third law , waves of viberation , attraction and reppel and electrical circuits.

i hope you enjoy!

What You Need to Make the Viberation Experimentation Kit

look at the notes above and hover over each tool/material.

  • 2 bright leds
  • 1 peizeo buzzer
  • 1 led pattern changer
  • 9V battery clip
  • solder
  • soldering iron
  • switch
  • all mecano as show or improvise to your own model/scale.
  • a glass slide

to make the electronics follow the interactive notes on each photo.

once you have finished reading the notes here in the infomational stuff:

how does the piezo buzzer work:

the piezo buzzer works by a simple on off circuit. If you look close at the buzzer you will see a little paddle going up and dow verry fast.at the end of that paddle is a small magnet and bellow that is the coil. The coil produces small magnetic waves that pull the magnet back and forward. when the paddle hits the coil it flings back the the power goes off and repeats.

the reason the paddle flys back when it hits it is all part of newtons third law. the positive charged particles and the negitive particles swap positions when they make contact.

the led lights:

the reason i put led lights in this kit was for the look and shows the visibility and movements on the glass pannel.

follow the notes on each photo to build the frame.

facts about viberations:

  • Everything is vibrational energy – each atom – a nucleus surrounded by electrons, revolve at the speed of 600 miles per second.

  • Whether we hear it or not, everything has a sound, a vibration all it’s own

  • everyone had there own viberation.
  • when you put a fine powder on the slide it will make patterns on the slide according to the frequency of the viberation
this should be a good practical in class for about kids 12 and up.
