Vortex Dust Collector Vacuum From Old Air Freshner
I took one look at an expired Renuzit air freshener, turned it upside down and immediately came to the conclusion that Dyson saw the possibilities.
I have designed this but still saving up empties to do a build. Here are the pictures. If you beat me to it please let me know !

The idea is to use at least the cone portion and perhaps the whole minus the center stem from the cone.
When empty just pull the cone off the base. You can then just push the center out of the cone as it just snaps in.
What you are left with when you reassemble cone to base ( turn it upside down ) is one vortex !
Cut two circular plywood disks of the proper size to fit into a bucket such as an empty 5 gallon paint pail.
These will NOT necessarily be the same diameter. You will need to determine where in the pail they will be and measure that diameter based on the pail you choose.
Depending on the diameter, determine how many of these cones you can insert into each disk. Lay out and cut holes in the bottom disk for each cone so they just press into the holes but don't fall through. The second disk will be some distance above the first. Exactly where will depend on whether or not you use the original base or use pieces of 1/2" pipe for the tubes extending into the cones. Since each build will likely be a bit different you need to decide these dimensions yourself.
Once the two disks are set you will insert them into the bucket. Each disk should have a piece of rubber tube split and applied to the edges to create a tight air seal. ( not shown in images ) In the space between the two disks is where you will cut the hole for your collection hose to attach. Use your best practice to decide how to affix the hose you will be using.
The lid of the bucket will have either a vacuum motor or an inlet to hose over to a shop vac. You decide how to do this.
I happen to have a powerful vacuum motor salvaged from an old commercial floor washer so that is how I will build mine.
