Water Bottle Survival Kit
DISCLAIMER I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES OR THINGS IN THAT NATURE.
This is my first instructable I have done. Please leave comments.
When I was in boy scouts, we went on a 6 mile hike and we got "lost". The leaders knew where we where but we did not. At the time my survival kit was just an altoids tin with the basic stuff in it such as matches, band aids, supper glue (etc). Which got me thinking what would make a bigger and better survival kit. By far the hardest thing for an survival kit is what you are going to use to hold all of your things.

Choosing the Items
When choosing the items try to find items that are like 2 in1 things. I got a whistle, compass, thermometer and a magnifying glass for 2 dollars and that is a 4 in 1. This method simply saves on space and possibly money. Also make sure when you get the flashlight get one where you can replace the battery. The point of these things is to try to save space and to make a lighter survival kit.
The Knife
The knife is one of the most important things to get for your kit. Don't be tempted to buy some 5 dollar knife at Wal-mart just because it's cheap.I am not saying to buy a Cold steel or SOG. I have the Gerber Paraframe 1. The Paraframe 1 cost around17-20 dollars with a solid 3 inch blade. The Leathermen multi tool or Swiss army knife (etc) are great versatile knives. I love them but the main blade on the multi tools are not the biggest nor the strongest. Also the sheath knifes, Ka-Bar (etc) blade are nice and giant. But that also has limitations, such as carving things which can become a pain in the butt. Over all choose a knife that will fit you.
Packing
One of the most important things in packing your kit is to save space. This simply could leave room for future improvement.
So what I did is, for an example is with the candle I wrapped the orange ribbon around the it candle with a little piece of duck tap to hold it in place. Then I took the sewing needle to the candle and taped it there. Also you will want to put all of the fishing supplies in tin foil and wrap it up. I wrapped the duck tape around the bottom half of the outside of the bottle, the rope I also wrapped on the upper half of the outside of bottle. The Carabiner I clipped to the cap strap. I am sure resource full ways to pack your survival kit.
