What to Do With Old Video Cassette Covers?
What to Do With Old Video Cassette Covers? Can we reuse it & convert it into something useful?
This instructables is about reuse of old video cassette cover & converting it into a beautiful pen pencil stand.
Supplies
- Scissors
- Cutter
- Scale
- Old Cassette cover
- Thin Color Paper.
- Thick Card paper.
- Glue
- Transparent adhesive tape
- Pencil Shavings (Outcome after sharpening the pencil)
Take a old video cassette cover. Measure total length.
Take center & mark as shown on both the sides.
Cut across the marked line.
We will get two similar size pieces.
Two similar pieces are as shown in first photograph. Cut these pieces to convert them as shown in photograph two.
Keep two pieces as shown in the photograph. Stick inner walls of the two pieces to each other using transparent adhesive tape.
- Take a thick card paper.
- Cut piece of size 7.5cm x 6.5cm. (Height of the open side of the pieces is 7.5. centimeter. Width of open side is 5.5cm.)
- Make a notch along the length of thick card paper piece at the 5mm as shown in photograph one. Make two notch from both sides. Inner size in between two notches should be 5.5.cm.
- This card paper piece should fix at the open end of the cassette.
Fix the card sheet piece using transparent adhesive tape as shown in above photograph.
Fix a pencil shaving using glue to add beauty to the card sheet piece.
Some patterns of pencil shavings stick on the cover.
Rap & stick three sides of the cassette cover using color paper.
Few more patterns.
Stick pencil shavings on the color paper.
Final product - Pen Pencil stand is ready to use.
