I recently got this recipe from Back For Second's blog, and I wanted to share it here on Instructables.

These yummy little squares taste a bit like banana bread, but have a sweet, rich flavor from the white chocolate.

Gather Your Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 4 oz white chocolate

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 egg

  • 120 grams of flour

  • 2 medium ripe bananas

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1 tsp anilla extract

Also, preheat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.

Melt It!

Put the butter and chocolate in a medium sized metal bowl and heat over low or medium low heat until melted.

If you are a bit squeamish about putting a metal mixing bowl on your stove, don't worry! You can easily melt this in your microwave using a glass bowl in 30 second bursts.

Mash and Mix

In a smaller mixing bowl, mash the bananas using a wooden spoon or potato masher.

Add the sugar to the melted butter and chocolate, stirring thoroughly.

Add the mashed bananas to the butter/sugar/chocolate mixture.

Stir in the egg,

and the salt,

and the vanilla extract.

Finally, add the flour and mix completely.

Pan Up and Bake

Move this mixture to an 8 inch square pan that you have pre-lubed with baking spray.

Park it in your 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out (mostly) clean.

Cool for 15 minutes.

Cut and Serve

To cut these brownies (bananies?) i inverted the pan over a plate (Running a knife around the perimeter will help this). Then, cut into 16 lovely little cubes.

If you were going to garnish these, a bit of powdered sugar compliments the pale yellow color quite nicely!
