Window Planter Flower Box (free Plans)
In this edition of Instructables we build a window planter flower box from some rough cut cedar. You could really build this from any material. The first thing I do is cut all my pieces down on the table saw and miter saw (or just a circular saw). There are only two measurements you need to remember for this project. You will need to cut six strips of wood to 1 inch by 1 inch by 6 inches and 8 strips of wood to 1 inch by 1 inch by 24 inches. There will be a cut list in the next step with 3d modeling photos. This is a very easy and fun build. It's also a great build to do with kids. Enjoy and happy planting. Cut List
Cut list:
8 - 1x1x24
6 - 1x1x6
As you assemble the planter it will go together much like a log cabin. Alternate the 24 inch and 6 inch pieces.
Use glue and nails as you build.
Lay Out
Lay four 24 inch pieces out in a rectangular manner evenly spaced and make sure the ends are lined up.
Alternate Pieces
Place a 6 inch piece on top of both ends of the 24 inch pieces making sure all corners are flush.
Continue Stacking
Stack two 24 inch pieces on top of the 6 inch end pieces placing them above the two outer lower 24 inch pieces.
Wrap Inside With Burlap
Continue stacking the 24 inch and 6 inch alternating pieces until you have reached this step. This concludes the assembly. Wrap the inside with burlap and staple to hold the potting soil. Happy planting! Visit WWW.STONEANDSONS.NET for more and please subscribe to our YouTube channel. Thank You!!
