Wip Mixer for Craft Paints Using String Trimmer - Sting

I have spent a lifetime trying to mix my paints completely,

I was a shaker of bottles then I stirred.

I found a stir mixer but the end would not work.

So, I created an off the shelf option from the line for weed wip / string trimmer. connected to a rotary tool.

I can simply cut the length I need for the bottle dimensions.

The type of line I am using is hexagon and I crimp the end to ensure the mixing.

I had some 0.095 inch line for my yard trimmer, so I used this.

It fit the mall collet of my rotary tool.

You might need a different collets, a drill type collet would probably be better to accept all types and sizes.

1. side cutter
2. pliers (i put blue tape on the ends to reduce dirt getting into the paint)
3. blue tape
4. rotary tool / motor
5. ruler

For my paint container for this instructable:

The paint container is 4 inches tall

I cut the wip at 3 1/2 inches long with my side cutter

to add to the mixing ability I crimped the end of the plastic line

I did just crimped a small porting using my pliers (channel lock)

Not wanting to transfer dirt to the paint = so I covered the jaws of the pliers with blue tape.

This worked good for me.

Depending on your rotary tool / motor -- the collet set up will vary

For my rotary tool I put the smallest collet to hold the wip mixer tight

Please put the wip mixer line in then turn on the motor.

It is safer and I really doubt with the line wiping around it would work.

I first tried this set up with a clear bottle and water.

Well, what I was thinking in my head and what turned out was even better (see photo)

I moved on to some paint - put the wip mixer line in then turn on the motor on I had a almost new (pretty full)

It mixed the paint.

To clean

My original plans was just to have this as disposable (I can not stand cleaning - well the time spent to clean - I would rather be active painting)

I first tried just wiping with a towel which worked ok

Then I had a jar of water I use for my water color brushes.

I lowered the wip in the water and turned on the motor.

Well spinning it in water worked great.

Well you can save and reuse
