Witchy Chip and Dip

Halloween parties can be a highlight of your entire year! Everyone comes in specially selected costumes. You get to be very creative with the spooky decorations and with all of the food served. Here is a fun food idea for your next Halloween party! Witchy Chip and Dip is so easy to make! Everyone will enjoy seeing her and eating her! Follow the steps of this Instructable to see how you can easily make one too!

Supplies

Guacamole Ingredients:

2 avocados

1 teaspoon sriracha sauce

1/4 cup cilantro

1 tablespoon lime juice

1/4 teaspoon salt


Other Ingredients:

1 large egg

2 pimento-stuffed green olives

2 black olives

2 large carrots

1 baby dill pickle

1 small tomato

4 smoked almonds

1 spring onion sprig

1 bag black bean tortilla chips or blue corn tortilla chips

Tools:

1 Halloween tray, preferably black

1 cutting board

1 zoodle maker or julienne slicer

1 sharp knife

1 small plate

1 fork

1 spoon

1 peeler

1 small saucepan

Cook the Egg

Add the egg to some water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 15 minutes to be sure the yolk is fully cooked.

Peel It

Drain the hot water. Add ice and cool water. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. Easily peel the shell off of the egg.

Cut the Egg

Cut the egg across the center. Cut a small slice off of the bottom of each half. These will form the outer part of the witch's eyes.

Pare the Carrots

Cut off the top and the bottom tip of each carrot. Use a peeler to peel off the outer portion of the carrots.

Zoodle Them!

Run each carrot through a zoodle cutter.You could also just shred the carrots or julienne them. This will form the hair of the witch.

The Cilantro

Finely dice the cilantro.

Prep the Avocado

Cut each avocado in half. Remove the pits. Scoop the avocado flesh into a bowl and smash with a fork.

Make It Guacamole!

To the mashed avocado, add the sriracha sauce, chopped cilantro, lime juice and salt. Blend well. The guacamole should be just a little chunky.

Start to Assemble the Witch

Place each pile of zoodled carrots on the bottom sides of the tray. Save smaller carrot pieces to be placed at the top of her head.

Add the Guacamole

Spoon the guacamole between the 2 piles of carrot hair, forming the head of the witch.

Cut Eybrows

Cut 2 "eyebrows" from the spring onion sprig.

The Eye Pupils

Cut across the center of each of the 2 black olives and 2 green stuffed olives. Place the green olive slices on top of the black olive slices.

Cut the Tomato

Cut 2 slivers of tomato which will be the witch's lips.

Add Chips

Add the black bean tortilla chips to the top of the tray forming the witch's hat.

Add the Eyes and Nose

Position the egg halves for eyes on the face. Top with the olives. Add the dill pickle nose.

Add More Hair and Eyebrows

Place the shorter carrot pieces at the top of the witch's head and add the spring onion eyebrows.

Form the Mouth

Position the tomato pieces to form her lips. Place the almonds in the lips to give her teeth.

She Is Complete!

This "Witchy Chip and Dip" is very tasty and a great heath-filled party addition. The black bean tortilla chips contain lots of protein, avocados are so very healthy as are all of the rest of ingredients. And everything tastes fabulous eaten all together too!
