How to make a whistle out of a 3/4 inch wooden dowel and a 3/8 inch wooden dowel.

Cutting the Whistle to Length

First cut your 3/4 inch dowel to the length that you want.

Drill a Hole

Drill a hole in one end about 1 1/2 deep.

Cut the Air Exit Hole

Now cut the line a little less that half way down the top of the 3/4 inch dowel

Cut the Second Part of the Air Exit Hole

Now cut a slit at a angle.

Cutting the Plug

Now cut the 3/8 inch dowel about 2 inches long.

File the Plug

Now file the 3/8 inch dowel a little less that half way down. Then insert the plug into the drilled hole and turn and twist the plug until you get a good whistle noise to come out. Then glue it in with some wood glue and cut the access off with a saw.
