World's Best Lasagna!

Although Lasagna did not originate in the United States, We have made our own recipes and traditions that cannot be found in the traditional Italian Lasagna! This lasagna is not your regular traditional dish! There are lots of flavors and two different meat that are incorporated in this dish. I hope you enjoy!

Supplies

· The special Ingredients!!

1-pound Italian sausage

· ¾ pound ground beef

· 2 cloves minced garlic

· 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

· 2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste

· 2 (6.5 oz) canned tomato sauce

· ½ cup water

· 2 tbsp. white sugar

· 1 ½ tsp dried basil leaves

· 1 tsp Italian seasonings

· 1 ½ tsp salt

· ¼ tsp black pepper

· 4 tbsp chopped parsley

· 12 lasagna noodles

· 16 oz ricotta cheese

· 1 whole egg

· 3/4 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced

· ¾ grated parmesan cheese

Cooking Up the Amazing Meats!

Step 1:

In a large skillet or frying pan, combine sausage, ground beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until well browned and cooked thoroughly. This amazing smell is going to light your entire house up!

- Once the meat is fully cooked, Do not forget to strain it! Do not rinse! Just strain off all of the grease.

Lets Make the Sauce!

Step 2: Next up, Mix in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season the mixture with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tsp seasoned salt, pepper, and 2 tbsp parsley. Cover it and simmer for about 1 ½ hours stirring occasionally.

Step 3: Gather a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles and rinse them with cold water.

Step 4: Pick up a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with 1 egg, the remaining parsley, and ½ teaspoon season salt.

Get the Oven Ready!

Step 5:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

Step 6:

Measure 1 ½ cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Now spread it with ½ of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with 1/3 of mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon q ½ cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with ¼ cup parmesan cheese. Repeat layers and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Cover with aluminum foil (to prevent sticking). Make sure the foil does not touch the cheese.

Step 7:

Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
