In this Instructable, you will learn how to make a fairy garden from a yogurt cup. Most fairy gardens are pretty expensive, but this one uses all affordable materials. Also feel free to customize your garden to make it exactly the way you like it!

Rinse your yogurt cup in the sink and peel off the label.

I used light green and dark green paint. First, I applied the light green paint. Next, I dabbed on a darker green paint for shading.

Fill the Yogurt Cup

I started by twirling white pipe cleaners about the base of the yogurt cup. On the top layer, I placed green pipe cleaners I folded accordion style. I used hot glue to secure a green pipe cleaner to the edge of the yogurt cup as well. Note: this step is totally customizable. If you plan to put your mini garden in an actual garden, you might add dirt to the cup. Or maybe you use fake moss or pebbles. Totally up to you!

Print Out Your Fairies

I just went online, you could also draw your own. Next, cut them out around the edges.

Accessorize!

I hot glued some extra buttons on the side of the cup. This is where you get creative! You could add some fake flowers, turn cotton balls into animals, or throw on some glitter. When you are done, find a setting to place your garden.

Tip: kids love watching the fairy garden change. Print out some extra fairies and change them in the morning to surprise your kids!
