Your Step-by-Step Guide to Making Brownies
Brownies are a delectable dessert and easy to share with the family. They require less preparation than other desserts and go well with a glass of milk. For this reason, I will be sharing a guide to making brownies, so you can bake and enjoy them yourselves!

What You Will Need
Ingredients
- 8 (1-ounce) squares of unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup of butter
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups of sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Preparation
Steps
- Grease the pan.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F or 325 F for dark metal and/or glass pans.
Melt Chocolate
Ingredients
- 8 (1-ounce) squares of unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup of butter
Steps
- Melt unsweetened chocolate and cup of butter in a medium-sized bowl over a saucepan with 1 to 2-inches of water, over low heat.
- Once the chocolate is combined with the butter, remove the mixture from the stove and set aside to cool.
Toast the Nuts
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Steps
- Put chopped walnuts in a foil-lined baking pan and set it in a toaster oven on medium.
Beat Eggs
Ingredients
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla
Steps
- Add eggs, sugar, and vanilla together.
- Mix for 10 minutes.
Mix Flour
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Steps
- Add the flour and salt.
- Mix with a wire whisk.
Add Chocolate
Steps
- While the mixer is running, slowly add the cooled chocolate mixture to the egg mixture.
- If a stand mixer is unavailable, add the chocolate a little at a time between mixings.
Add Flour
Steps
- While mixing, gradually add flour.
Add Nuts
Steps
- Mix in the nuts by hand.
Bake the Brownies
Steps
- Put the mixture into your prepared pan for baking.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
Cool & Cut
Steps
- Once your brownies are done, cool in a pan on a wire rack.
- Cut into squares.
