I decided to make a pocket for my phone to enter into this challenge.

I gathered my supplies. For the measurements I traced around my phone on a piece of paper and measured that with a ruler then, added half a cm on each one of each measurement to make sure my phone would fit.

Supplies

Zipper, Fabric, Needle and Thread, Scissors, Pencil, Ruler

Getting the Zipper

For this project I only used materials from around the house so I had to scavenge a bit. I ended up removing a zipper from this little bag to use for my project. I did this by ripping the seam that attached it to the bag and then I just pulled it out.

Cutting the Fabric

Once I had my zipper I moved onto my fabric. I cut my fabric as one extra long rectangle(twice the size as the vertical measurement since it had to cover both sides).

Beginning of Sewing

After I cut the fabric I folded the top down because I wanted the zipper to be close to the top but not on the very top and not in the middle. Since the bottom wouldn't need to be sewed I began to sew up the left side until I hit where the zipper would be placed I put the zipper into the fabric and continued to sew to the top right over the zipper so it would be attached at the side.

Sewing Part of the Zipper

Once you attached the side of the Zipper you can go along and sew the bottom of the zipper. Make sure you fold the fabric while you sew it to guarantee a clean edge and no fraying. If you have any extra zipper this is where you can cut it off.

Sewing the Other Side

Now that the bottom of the Zipper is attached you can sew down to the bottom of the pocket on the right side.

Finishing the Project

Now you can sew along the top of the zipper. This part was very challenging for me since you are starting to close it up and there's not much space for your hands. Then you can flip it inside out so that all your seems are hidden except for the ones on the zipper.

Sewing the Last Corner

Now for this corner I left it open but still folded in the edge and sewed it because it would have been left fraying if I didn't. I left it open because my phone wouldn't of fit because I messed up on the measurements. So if you don't mess up then you can fully close this part up until the zipper but I couldn't. I also wrapped string around the last few parts of the zipper to make sure it wont fall of the track.

All Done!

Now you can enjoy your little pocket for your phone!
