Hiding Headband
This headband is made with a small pocket for keys, money, MP3, etc. And if you can't sew the striped one is for sale here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=6145622
Cut Fabric
Measure and cut a piece of cotton fabric and a knit fabric, each 3"x18". Cut a piece of knit fabric either 2"x4" for a small pocket or 3"x4" for a pocket that is the width of headband.
Sewing
sew a small hem in the top of the pocket, if making the smaller pocket do the same on bottom. If using larger pocket make a small hem at the bottom and sew to piece of knit fabric approximately 1" from the bottom.
Sew Band
Sew right sides of band together on the sides, leaving ends open. Taper evenly at each end as you are sewing so that the opening is approximately 1". Trim seams. Turn right side out and press.
Finishing
cut a piece of 3/4" elastic into a length of 5.5". Fold up a small hem at each end of band, insert end of elastic into end of band, pin. Top stitch around entire headband. A piece of self stick velcro can be added just inside of pocket to secure belongings.
Note:this headbands look big on my child model as they are sized for an adult head. Simply shorten band and elastic length to accomodate any head size.
