Perfect Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe
This pumpkin pie spice actually lives up to its name with loads of warming spices mixed in. In this spice mix I've included cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice, nutmeg and cardamom. :D
Pumpkin pie spice isn't something I keep on hand all year round - I tend to just mix it up when I need it! This pumpkin spice seasoning is perfect for pies, quick breads, cookies, or even mixed with sugar and butter to top muffins or popcorn.
Ingredients
Spicy pumpkin pie spice:
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
This is my favorite! I like a lot of spice in my pumpkin pies. And well, most pies in general. ;)
Mild pumpkin pie spice:
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon cardamom
If you're not as big on the more intense spices like clove and cardamom, half those amounts and give it a go!
Mix It Up and Enjoy!
Pour all of the spices in a glass container and shake until they're well combined! Keep it in a cool area out of direct sunlight and it will stay good for a long long time. :)
