Tattoo Guitar Picks
Hello there everybody! In this instructable I will show you how to personalize guitar picks with temporary tattoos!
So you are looking for a nice gift you could make for someone who plays a stringed instrument like a guitar or mandoline? Or you just want to stand out with your unique picks? This instructable shows you how you can do it in a few steps.
Gather Your Materials
For this instructable you will need:
- Guitar picks ( the picks should have a smooth surface) or a plastic which you can cut out a guitar pick
-temporary tattoos ( you can get these mostly at toy stores)
-scissors
- a sponge
- water
- clear lacquer
Please note: get some guitar picks or plastics that are not too dark. The design will not show up on darker / black picks or plastics!
Remove the Front Cover of Your Temporary Tattoo
First of all you need to remove the transparent foil of your temporary tattoo
Place Your Pick on the Tattoo
Now you need to place your guitar pick on your tattoo. Press the guitar pick with the tattoo together.
Cut Out
Cut along your guitar pick .
Water the Surface
Water the tattoo surface and press it down with a sponge. Wait a little bit ( 1-2 minutes should be enough).
Remove the White Cover
Remove the white cover carefully. Let it dry.
Paint It
If your guitar pick is dry, you can paint the tattoo surface with some clear lacquer. It takes normally 24h to dry. ( I do not recommend to use a hair drier, because the heat can create bubbles on the surface and even crack your tattoo design underneath the paint.)
This last step will prevent or at least delay the wear out of the design. I hope you enjoyed this little instructable!
